Four generations of Old World & Adirondack traditions with ingredients of family, fate and 21st century natural essences are how proprietors and chef Cathy and Ernest Hohmeyer describe the Adirondack Alps culinary experience. As a 19th century Adirondack pioneer, Cathy's Great Aunt and Uncle built our 1886 Lodge as a trading post, post office & guesthouse.
Thus, some of the recipes have an Adirondack pioneer origin based on 19th Century Adirondack eco-tourism practices of local, natural and organic foods. With one other family ownership in between, Ernest's family, all born in Europe, bought the Lodge in 1965. His family's culinary tourism & agra-tourism roots date back to old world Europe. Brought back together at the various crossroads of their lives (since grade school),
and totally unaware of family histories, fate continued to show its hand. Today, we have fused these traditions and passions with our own touch of 21st century flair. We welcome you to the spirit, essences and family inspired ambience that creates our Adirondack Alps ethnic fusion cuisine, and our fun filled seasonal culinary classes and workshops!
A key ingredient to our Adirondack Alps experience is our sensory and visual ambience that includes our 1886 Lodge and 22 acre estate as one of the last original homes open to the public.
 On a given evening our unique fusion cuisine of Adirondack & Old World blends may consist of up to 12 savory delights. Please know that we limit our guests to approximately 50 culinary enthusiasts. There exists no turnovers or second seating. Stay for only an hour or relax the entire evening - it is up to you as your table is yours for the entire evening if you wish. This allows Chef Cathy Hohmeyer who is pursuing her Doctorate in naturopathy to personalize her dishes with natural nightly variations and to consider special dietary requests. On the shores of secluded Lake Clear - where Einstein relaxed - & immerse yourself in one of the most spectacular sunsets in the Adirondacks as you gaze at the St. Regis mountain range with one of the Adirondacks few remaining antique fire towers. We are in the largest intact wilderness area east of the Mississippi: the St. Regis Wilderness area.
